Imagery

Definition: to describe how something looks, feels,
                sounds, tastes, or smells
Example"I wandered lonely as a cloud
                That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
                When all at once I saw a crowd,
                A host, of golden daffodils;
                Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
                Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
                For oft, when on my couch I lie
                In vacant or in pensive mood,
               They flash upon that inward eye
               Which is the bliss of solitude;
               And then my heart with pleasure fills,
               And dances with the daffodils."
                 -William Wordsworth
Significance: It shows the reader what everything in the poem looks, feels, sounds, tastes or smells by using visual, tactile, auditory, gustatory, or olfactory imagery.
